1950s

The 1950s were a decade of expansion for Sequoyah. Annual enrollment increased by roughly 75 campers. Canoe camp on Lake Aquone (Lake Nantahala) opened in the late 1940s and the canoe camp lodge was completed in 1950. Tsali opened in 1951, the alumni lodge was built in 1953, and Junior camp opened in 1957.
